Rautomead exhibit at GIFA 2019, Dusseldorf, Germany - Stand 10 F 40
Continuous casting technology specialists, Rautomead Limited, will be exhibiting at the GIFA Foundry Exhibition in Dusseldorf 25 – 29 June and will be introducing the new RSL “sealed lid” continuous casting equipment for the manufacture of copper chrome zirconium wire rods.
CuCrZr rod, produced close to finished product size as rod up to 30mm diameter, minimises manufacturing cost of finished products compared with those made from extruded billet. Applications for CuCrZr include: switchgear components, specialist wires, welding electrodes, trolley wire for high speed trains and circuit breaker parts.
The RSL sealed lid technology is the result of extensive R&D activity which focussed on the casting capability for new high performance alloys, in particular copper zirconium and copper chrome zirconium. RSL casting machines have recently been supplied to customers in Europe and China.
In addition to the RSL casting machines, Rautomead will be promoting its ranges of “open furnace” type continuous casting equipment which are available as horizontal machines for manufacture of bars, billets, strips and hollow tubes and as vertical machines for upwards casting of round rods for wire manufacture.
Rautomead graphite furnace technology is particularly suited for production of high purity, high quality non-ferrous materials, copper and precious metals.
