Electric welding machines: how do they work and where to buy?
A dishwasher basket, a shopping cart, metal shelving or reinforcing mesh: these are all rather commonly used products made by electric welding, and more specifically by electric welding machines that can mechanize such process. But how do they actually work?
The starting point are pre-cut metal wire or bars, that are manually or automatically arranged in the machine, following the layout defined with the customer at an early stage of design. When possible, the machine can also be fed with coils. Traversal bars are placed over longitudinal bars either automatically or step-by-step by resistance welding.
Machines can also be customized and integrated with folding units, automatic presses or other systems, based on the technical requirements of the product or other production needs. Wire grids with three dimensional or bidimensional complex forms, such as the upper and lower dishwasher baskets, can be manufactured.
Automatic welding lines have several features that make them stand out over traditional welding methods, such as a more compact welding (which limits potential flaws and ensures consistent results), increased productivity and better safety conditions for operators.
By using Froma’s welding technology, it is possible to control all welding parameters in each welding point, ensuring optimal flexibility and high quality of the final products. The company has been manufacturing automatic welding machines and other automatic systems for the wire industry since 1967; and specializes in the design and manufacture of automatic welding and bending lines for metal wire. Its machines are suitable for housewares (dishwasher basket, metal shelving, oven interiors and shopping carts).
