The electro-welding expert Froma five years after the generational change

Established in 1967 by Riccardo Frigerio, Froma specializes in the design and manufacturing of machines and lines for the wire industry, with particular attention to welding and bending machines for electro-welded mesh, automatic lines with multiple stations, and complementary machines.

The generational shift, which took place at the end of 2015, marked a phase of development of the company, both from an organizational point of view and in terms of product restyling.

To protect and reinforce the artisanal nature that has always distinguished Froma, the corporate structure evolved into a more formalized and process-oriented configuration. Moreover, each year the company defines annual objectives and pertaining R&D programs in the mechanical and electrical fields. Against this backdrop, the most emblematic updates during these five years have been: the integration of Siemens automation systems with Tia Portal and PLC S1500 (in addition to the traditional Froma with Saia Burgess Control), the development of a flexible plant with reduced changeover times (21 product variants with 5 to 75 min changeover times, depending on the output and input model), as well as the implementation of a robotic arm for the automatic handling across production process.
