COGEIM at GIFA with a new desanding plant for cast iron work pieces
COGEIM EUROPE has attended the GIFA exhibition fair which took place in Düsseldorf last June.
This exhibition is held every four years and is purposely intended for the foundry sector. It has a huge importance for both exhibitors and visitors coming from all over the world.
On the base of this assumption, COGEIM has presented an innovative installation for the desanding treatment of cast-iron work pieces weighing 3 tons max. and of up to 1,5 m in diameter and 3 m high.
This machine is equipped with no. 4 wheels driven by 22 kW electric motors each. These new design wheels are the essential part of the installation and are manufactured with special innovative materials aimed to guarantee a much greater resistance against wear.
The blast chamber has been designed with the same aim to manufacture an accurate installation requiring as little maintenance as possible and in order to achieve this result it has been thoroughly lined with replaceable manganese steel liners.
Of course the machine is provided with a combined system including cleaning, removal of dust and size classification of the operational abrasive mixture consisting of:
- Dross screening apparatus
- Dual magnetic drum system for the separation and removal of foundry sand from the abrasive
- Suction system for the sizing and classification of the operational abrasive mixture, that’s to eliminate the spent shot.
The installation is also provided with a high efficiency dust collector which guarantees the emission of purified air into the environment in compliance with the environmental standards in force.
The installation is controlled by means of a functional designed electric panel provided with PLC to control the operational cycle and for the storage of all working data of the machine.
