Industry 4.0: shot blasting machine with loading and unloading robots
Cogeim, a specialist in the production of shot blasting machines, has recently installed a brand new plant equipped with two robots into an aluminium die casting foundry. The presence of these automations represents a vantagious innovation in the production process for the customer in terms of safety and productivity. The robots are used for parts automatic loading and unloading from pallets, which allows a faster process.
The processed parts have significant weight, so when this phase doesn’t burden the operators, the work quality and the safety of the production area improve. At the same time the robots allow high and constant productivity, that can be easily monitored in real time. The process consists in continuously supplying the shot blasting machine with pallets placed in well defined areas reachable by the robots.
The plant is equipped with 8 turbines, which allow an optimal application of the abrasive on the entire part to be processed. The second robot is at the end of the shot blasting process, where it unloads the finished products on the pallet.
The plant was installed according to industry 4.0 principles, allowing the complete control of the process in order to best manage the production process.
Cogeim is participating in GIFA (june 25-29, Düsseldorf): the company’s staff awaits you at booth F25 hall 15.
