Seamless tubes blasting machine: new contract for COGEIM

COGEIM has recently completed the realization of a shot blasting machine for the outer surface of seamless tubes, with a diameter up to 20 inches and weight over 500 kg/meter.

The system is designed to guarantee a SA3 grade surface finish at the tube feed speed of 2 meters per minute. The tube, 13.2 meters long, is loaded onto the biconical roller conveyor, having a capacity of 800 kg/meter: the biconical rollers have an inclination with respect to the feed direction, calculated so as to ensure total coverage of the surface external tube, which passes through the blasting chamber with a helical motion.

The roller conveyors outside the shot blasting machine are designed for the future installation of automatic tube loading and unloading systems.

With this plant, intended for an important Eastern European group leader in the production of seamless special pipes, COGEIM reaffirms its presence in the production of high value-added steel products.
