Another achievement for Engitec-GMS: new continuous casting line for copper alloys delivered

Engitec (GMS Product Line) was commissioned by Service Metal Company the supply of a new horizontal continuous casting line for the production of semi-finished products - bars, tubes, and billets - in copper alloys, in August 2022.

The complete plant will be entirely developed and built by Engitec (GMS Product Line) and is equipped with a cutting-edge automation and control system based on the winCC platform controls. Thanks to this device, it is possible to check process parameters in real-time and easily manage production recipes. The line includes several main machines, including a melting furnace, a holding and casting furnace, traction machinery, a profile sawing machine, equipment for coolers, and a billet unloading bench.

The company which commissioned Engitec (GMS Product Line)’s complete plant, Service Metal Company, is one of the most reputable European leaders in the manufacture of brass and bronze ingots and bars, located in the historic town of Mazzano (Brescia, Italy).

This is not the first collaboration between Engitec (GMS Product Line) and Service Metal Company: their synergy dates back to 2005 when this leading Company had issued a similar order, followed by revamped contracts several times between 2010 and 2019.
