Another bright milestone in the collaboration between Metallurgica San Marco and Engitec
Engitec's latest high-tech machinery, the Channel Melting Furnace BORA 18K/1500, has been supplied to market leader Metallurgica S. Marco, a prominent player in the brass industry and part of the Metallurgica Group.
Features of Engitec’s channel melting furnace
This furnace, boasting a capacity of 22t for brass, is powered by a 1,500kW IGBT converter. It comes complete with an automatic loading system, tailored by Engitec to seamlessly integrate into the existing foundry with minimal or zero impact on production operations. Energy consumption stands at approximately 190 kWh/ton, with a production rate of 5,000 kg of molten brass in 38–40 minutes. The Italy-based company is pleased to have swiftly obtained the Final Acceptance Certificate and fully satisfied the client.
Technological efficiency in machinery for non-ferrous alloys
For years, Engitec's GMS Product Line has been constructing and commissioning channel furnaces for non-ferrous alloys, utilizing IGBT (insulated-gate bipolar transistor) frequency converters. This technology offers optimal power regulation throughout all stages of furnace operation (sintering, holding, melting), with a regulation range from 0 to 100%. This approach maximizes power utilization for each operational phase, resulting in efficient energy consumption tailored to the specific alloy being processed.
