From March 25 to 27, 2025, Metallurgica Locatelli S.p.A. will exhibit at Fastener Fair Global in Stuttgart (booth 7-4016), introducing an extension of its production range. Thanks to the installation of a new wire drawing line, the company will be able to supply drawn wires with diameters up to 20 mm, expanding the supply possibilities for cold heading and extrusion wire, available in raw, annealed, and intermediate annealed finishes.

This dimensional range expansion results in a more versatile offering, capable of meeting diverse production needs.

Solutions for cold heading

Metallurgica Locatelli specializes in the production of low- and medium-carbon steel wires and rods for cold heading and extrusion, providing optimized raw materials for the fastening and bolting industry. The company offers tailored solutions for cold heading, a process that requires materials with specific properties such as:

   • uniform microstructure for controlled deformation;
   • good ductility and toughness to prevent cracks or fractures during processing;
   • high-dimensional precision to ensure stability in the heading process.

Metallurgica Locatelli’s product range includes:

   • drawn wires from 1.80 mm to 20 mm in low- and medium-carbon steels;
   • hot-rolled wire rod, available in standard diameters;
   • wires with various surface treatments;
   • packaging in coils or cut-to-length bars, according to customer specifications.
