Tecnofil presents SF25: the new line for steel fibers
Tecnofil is an international player in low and medium carbon steel wire production and in the design and realization of machineries for wire and wire band production. Recently, thanks to the new SF25 line, the company has extended its production to include steel fibers for the building sector. Tecnofil fibers significantly improve the resistance of concrete to impacts and mechanical strains when the flexural and shear stress is very high. For example, they are commonly used in industrial floors, airport runways, parking lots, roads, highways, coating tunnels, hydraulic works, earthquake-proof constructions and precast elements. The SF25 line is a turnkey solution developed by Tecnofil to manufacture reinforcing glued steel fibres that grant higher production speeds and better design consistency. Moreover, the end users prefer them as they are very easy to handle and have faster mixing times in concrete: in facts, with the use of soluble adhesives, steel fibres get immediately loose and homogenously scattered in the concrete. Tecnofil SF25 line starts from round steel wires and transforms them into steel fibers in strips, ready to be used. In detail, round steel wires are glued together in a band with a special water soluble adhesive which fades in concrete. The band is then dried and fed into the press which cuts and stamps the finished fibre strips. The whole process is fully integrated and automatic, to ensure the highest productivity. The line has been designed exploiting the 20 years experience of Tecnofil in this sector to guarantee: - High working speed (beyond 250 strokes/minute) - High precision and flexibility with the full electronic feeder - No maintenance with always sharp tungsten carbide knives and forming parts in hardened steel.
