Tecnofil’s 2023 sustainability report: growth and goals of the Alfa Acciai Group
Tecnofil, an Italy-based wire producer and part of the Alfa Acciai Group, is pleased to share the Group’s 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting achieved milestones, future projects, and its ongoing commitment to sustainable growth.
Environmental sustainability achievements
Tecnofil, together with the Group, has made environmental sustainability a cornerstone of its business, focusing on circular production processes, that allow for a minimum recycled material content of 99% in its finished products, one of the highest values in Europe. Through the valorization and transformation of ferrous scrap and the management of waste through other circular economies, the Group fuels the value chain while minimizing its environmental impact. Notably, in 2023, the company implemented a heat recovery system that feeds into the district heating network of Brescia, resulting in energy savings equivalent to 4,000 tons of oil and a reduction of approximately 10,000 tons of CO₂ emissions.
Social responsibility and employee well-being
With its 1,235 employees, the Alfa Acciai Group works daily to enhance the well-being of its workers, investing in continuous training and promoting initiatives aimed at spreading and reinforcing the company’s values. In 2023, with this goal in mind, it began the certification process for gender equality in accordance with the UNI/PdR 125:2022 standard, further solidifying its commitment to an inclusive and respectful work environment. Additionally, the Group established Alfa Academy to train new professionals for the installation and maintenance of steel production and processing plants.
A vision for continuous development
In a globally complex industrial context, the Alfa Acciai Group maintained a stable production of 1.5 million tons, a solid financial position, and significant investments in sustainability. With a turnover of approximately €1.108 billion in 2023 and €43 million in investments, the Group increased its ESG investments by 71% compared to the previous year, reflecting a future-oriented, sustainable vision.
