Isella: how is cold rolled flat wire made?
Isella is an Italian company specializing in the production of cold drawn wire and cold-rolled flat wire since more than 50 years.
Born as a simple drawing mill producing round and square flat wire, the company has evolved in time, by installing new plants and focusing on a specialized and niche production: cold rolling.
The raw material, once arrived in the company, is immediately chemically analyzed, pickled and then drawn to obtain a bright surface, suitable for the next stage of cold rolling. On request Isella can obtain lower resistances by performing an electric annealing in controlled atmosphere.
The flat wire coming out of the rolling mill is then controlled in width and thickness, and finally packaged in coils of different weights and sizes or cut into bars according to customer's request.
