Drawn tubes by Generaltubi Spa: quality, precision, and a large stock readily available

Generaltubi Spa is an Italy-based company specializing in the production and distribution of cold-drawn welded and seamless tubes. The company provides customized solutions for various industrial sectors, ensuring high-quality standards, dimensional precision, and a large stock readily available for fast deliveries.

Production capacity and dimensional range

With an annual production capacity of 3,000 tons, Generaltubi Spa supplies cold-drawn tubes in a broad dimensional range.

Below is a summary of the available product range:

- cold-drawn welded tubes: diameter from 8 mm to 180 mm, with thicknesses from 0.7 mm to 9 mm;
- cold-drawn seamless tubes: diameter from 8 mm to 170 mm, with thicknesses from 0.7 mm to 15 mm;
- available lengths: from 3 to 12 meters.

Carbon and low-alloy steels

Generaltubi Spa’s cold-drawn tubes are made of carbon and low-alloy steels, in compliance with key industry standards. Available steel grades include unalloyed and alloyed steels such as E235, E355, E255, E410, 26Mn5, C45E, 25CrMo4, 42CrMo4, E155, E195, E235, and E275, in accordance with EN 10305-1 and EN 10305-2.

This variety of materials is widely used in industries such as automotive, hydraulics, mechanical engineering, and plant construction.

Surface finishes

The tubes can be supplied with different surface finishes, depending on specific applications:

+C (as-drawn condition): no heat treatment after drawing; not suitable for cold forming; high tensile strength; low elongation.

+LC (lightly cold-worked condition): drawn, annealed, and re-drawn; not suitable for cold forming; high tensile strength; improved elasticity and elongation compared to the +C condition.

+SR (stress-relieved condition): stress-relieving heat treatment after drawing; eliminates residual stresses; tensile strength and elongation depend on the stress-relief temperature.

+A (annealed condition): annealed in a controlled atmosphere after the last drawing cycle; minimum tensile strength and elongation depend on the steel grade; suitable for cold forming.

+N (normalized condition): normalized in a controlled atmosphere after the last drawing cycle; specific minimum and maximum tensile strength (Rm); minimum yield strength (ReH); minimum elongation (A); improves cold-forming operations.

Packaging and transport

Generaltubi Spa’s cold-drawn tubes are supplied in strapped bundles or bushed packages packed in metal containers, ensuring proper protection during transportation. Deliveries are handled using the company's own fleet or trusted courier services.

Fast delivery and stock availability

One of the key strengths of Generaltubi Spa is the large stock availability of ready-to-ship tubes. This enables the company to respond quickly to customer needs and ensure fast deliveries.
