Double Carbon Footprint certification: Caleotto a leading player in steel decarbonization
Caleotto Spa, along with Acciaierie di Calvisano and Feralpi Siderurgica, is among the first steel companies to obtain the dual Carbon Footprint certification of Organization (CFO) and Product (CFP).
Specifically, the UNI EN ISO 14064 and UNI EN ISO 14067 certify the amount of emissions attributable to the entire steel processing cycle, from the production of raw materials to their transportation, including energy supply, distribution of the finished products, use and end-of-life phases.
This is a key milestone in the Feralpi Group's climate management journey, which fits into the broader framework of the European Green Deal and decarbonization goals set for 2030.
"Companies are called upon to act personally and build a sustainable future," commented Giuseppe Pasini, president of Feralpi Group, "making an important contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions in line with EU targets. The fight against climate change is synergistic with a growing market sensitivity to solutions and products capable of meeting market demands while respecting the environment. Steel is no exception and this is where we are committed, together with our partners, to reduce emissions along the entire value chain."
This step will enable Caleotto to carry out new and additional actions aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and have an additional competitive advantage.
