Renewed collaboration between Torino Spring and the PoliTO Race Team

In racing vehicles, lightness and reliability are key features to success. This is why the PoliTO Race Team (the Formula SAE Team of the Politecnico di Torino) has been relying on Torino Spring's skills for the manufacturing of customized parts to equip all their SC18, SC19 and SC21 cars. The springs produced by the Italy-based manufacturer are employed for the construction of several components, such as the accelerator pedal and the cooling system valve.

Accelerator pedal
In this case, the spring is used to recall the pedal to its initial position: the choice falls on torsion springs, which guarantee guarantee a regular force scaling on the pedal and limited overall dimensions.

Cooling system safety valve
The cooling system safety valve plays a key role both for the driver and for those working on the vehicle, as well as for the reliability of the vehicle itself. The spring, which is the core component of the device, regulates the opening and closing pressure, guaranteeing constant performance over time, despite exposure to water and high temperatures.
