Scleros: adjustable drawing dies for every need
Adjustable drawing dies are special tools equipped with modular components. The maneuverability they offer allows companies to manufacture complex drawn products with different profiles and sections (rectangular, square, and even hexagonal or octagonal).
Thanks to its extreme flexibility, this particular type of drawing dies is widely used in many industrial applications, including the production of flat bars in construction steel or stainless steel, the drawing of copper, aluminum, and alloys, as well as precious metals, such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.
Scleros mainly produces two types of adjustable dies, both featuring an external high-strength tempered steel frame, the so-called "armature", which acts as a connecting piece and houses the adjustment elements inside. Let's see together the two models in detail.
The first option can be split into blocks, and it is the ideal choice for all those companies that produce drawn products of different sizes, depending on market needs. This model is equipped with four internal blocks made of tungsten carbide or hardened steel and it features a brazed carbide insert that, once properly adjusted, is responsible for the final section.
The second model, featuring saddles, allows the drawing of flat bars with width much greater than thickness. This model consists of two abutments (similar to blocks) and two saddles. On the one hand, it can be set up much faster than the above mentioned model. On the other, it is less adjustable.
Moreover, thanks to the experience gained in more than 70 years of activity in this industry, Scleros can manufacture special adjustable dies for hexagonal or octagonal profiles according to the customer's specifications.
