Comtech bench grinders: PM400 and PM400S

Furthermore, the Italian company supplies two types of benchtop machines for profiling, grinding, sharpening, and touching up steel and hard metal tools: the PM400 and PM400S models. They both boast a three-phase 380 V motor with 0.75 kW of power and 2800 rpm, but they differ widely in terms of size and weight. On the one hand, the PM400 is more portable and has a small footprint (60x40x30 cm without column and about 40 kg). On the other hand, the PM400S is bulkier and sturdier (60x110x130 cm and about 70 kg). The "S'' model is the natural evolution of its predecessor. Both machines are equipped with:

- tool holder for up to 20 mm square tools;
- mandrel holder for center mandrel processing. Max. section: 20x30 mm;
- round tool holder for cylindrical tools;
- super abrasive wheels.

In fact, what really distinguishes the PM400S is a cutting-edge 30000 RPM handpiece coupled with an innovative electronic control unit which allows the operator to use diamond files or ø3 mm diamond shanks. Moreover, this model can fit bigger diamond or CBN wheels, up to ø165 mm with 20 mm bore.
