Multiple operations in a single machine: Paramount Die purchases a new STUDER S131r

Paramount Die has recently expanded its machine shop with a new piece of equipment: the STUDER S131r, a cutting-edge CNC universal internal cylindrical grinding machine.

The American wire drawing die manufacturer has chosen UNITED GRINDING for the supply of the new machine because of their quality support and their domestic location. Scott McClelland, Director of Engineering, and Keith Ney, Application Engineer, discuss how the STUDER S131r is helping them take their die manufacturing process to the next level.
“During the procurement process, our project engineer was running an application with the engineers at UNITED GRINDING. During that, he gave feedback that he was able to (within about a day-a day and a half) make some parts and do some applications that we were struggling with here for months,” claims Scott McClelland.
“What I would tell another engineer who's looking at grinding equipment is look at total cost of ownership. With equipment, more times than not, you get what you pay for. The Studer is not the cheapest piece of equipment on the market, but it is certainly the best. We're very happy with our investment,” adds Keith Ney.
