Impressions of Fastener Fair Stuttgart 2017
We have just left behind THE can’t-miss event for anyone involved in the fastener and fixing industry. Fastener Fair Stuttgart 2017 opened its doors from 28 – 30 March 2017 at the Trade Fair Centre of the South German city, gathering 895 exhibitors from 46 countries - a record both in terms of exhibitor numbers and exhibition space.
According to official data by the organizers, a total of 11,709 visitors from 91 countries have come to Stuttgart to discover the latest trends and products from all areas of fastener and fixing technology - a further growth in visitor numbers by 6% compared to last edition.
Fastener Fair has a long history in the industrial fastener industry and has built a strong brand around the world. Last week the UK-based show organizer Mack Brooks announced the dates for the first edition of Fastener Fair USA, scheduled for April 11-12, 2018 in Cleveland. This raised the total number of Fastener Fairs to eight. The next important appointments on the agenda are in Mumbai (Fastener Fair India, 28-29 April 2017) and Mexico City (Fastener Fair Mexico, 20-21 June 2017).
As regards Stuttgart, the comments we collected from part of the exhibitors were generally speaking positive.
Frederic Nathan, Sacma Group (Italy): “The world premiere of our machine I-Thread RP220 was a success. We displayed a unit running that attracted the interest of many visitors, especially Germans. This trade show is more about the fixing segment, that needs compact solutions, that's why this threader raised so much interest. So we can say that, from our point of view, we totally reached the targets we set, and the conference we held about cold forming had a good response, too.”
Thomas Liu, Fratom Fastech Co., Ltd. (Taiwan): “This is certainly the exhibition to be, the most professional fair in the fasteners industry. The 7th edition has reached its peak. In our case, most of the visitors were customers that came to visit us to talk about new projects. It was an important opportunity.”
Mauro Ghezzi, Trafileria Punteria Ghezzi (Italy): “The exhibition went very well: we made good contacts and met interested people. We had a great feedback for our products – especially nails and points.”
Liljana Goszdziewski, Exhibition Director of Fastener Fair Stuttgart commented: “Fastener Fair Stuttgart 2017 was once again a very international trade fair. Almost two thirds of trade visitors travelled to Stuttgart from abroad to discover the latest industry trends, to build international trade networks and to source new products and systems.”
