Italian steel industry: back to run, but not too much

Italian steel industry: back to run, but not too much. According to the observation completed by the trade association Federacciai, the Italian steel industry during the first five months of 2010 returned to grow: the production grew +37.8% in comparison to the same period of last year, for a total of more than 11.2 million tonnes. This is a very positive fact. But despite this, according to the President Giuseppe Pasini we're dealing with "a little recovery that doesn't seems to have a solid foundation when you consider what is happening beyond the Italian borders." The international benchmark gives a good sense of these statements. Italian peers in countries like Germany, in fact, are registering a far bigger increase: "in the first 4 months of 2010, steel production grew by 61.9%. The EU-27 in total scored a +44.3%.''
