Southern part of Messe Düsseldorf to be rebuilt, changes ahead for wire/Tube 2018
The supervisory board and shareholders of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH have definitively declared their approval to the plans of complete reconstruction of the southern entrance and the adjoining Hall 1. The capital expenditure amounts to 140 million euro and it’s part of the 636 million investment plan programmed by the exhibition center to be implemented before 2030.
Trade fair visitors and convention delegates will be welcomed by a new illuminated and translucent canopy, 170 metres long and 93 metres wide, which will give to Messe Düsseldorf a new façade. The renovation of the South Entrance also includes the reconstruction of Hall 1. To this end, current Halls 1 and 2 will be demolished and replaced with a new 12,000 square metres construction.
What will change in view of wire 2018 and Tube 2018?
In 2018, the transitioning year during which the building work will occur, the Tube exhibitors previously housed in Halls 1 and 2 will be provided with alternative, attractive stand options in halls 16 and 17. Therefore, Tube 2018 will be held in halls 3 to 7.0 and halls 16 and 17; wire 2018 exhibitors will showcase their innovations in halls 9 to 16.
