"The best wire & Tube ever": after-show report
71,500 professionals and buyers of the wire, cable and tube industry crowded the Düsseldorf fairground last week to visit the biennial wire/Tube 2018 exhibition - 2000 more than the previous edition. The double event broke all records this year. A total of 2,683 companies from 67 countries exhibited their technologies on 117,000 square meters of exhibition space (7,000 more than in 2016).
The development of the fair follows the positive trend that the world industry is experiencing as regards the supply of wires, cables, ropes, pipes and related products, which is benefitting from a global increase in investments in infrastructure, in the automotive sector, in renewable energies and oil & gas. There was a good climate inside the 16 exhibition halls - and outside, thanks to an unusual hot weather.
The comments we have collected have largely been positive, especially for exhibitors of halls 9 and 10, but not only. According to data provided by the fair organization, more than 50% of visitors came to Düsseldorf with concrete investment projects in mind. 70% of all trade fair participants were business figures with high decision-making capacity. Only 30% of the visitors were from Germany, the rest from abroad. Many appreciated, besides the number of visitors, their quality.
William W. Banks, CEO - Micro Products Company: "It's the busiest trade show we've participated in recently. Every day has been beneficial for us."
Bernd Lohmüller, Chief Sales Officer - Maschinenfabrik Niehoff: "As the leading trade fair for our industry, the wire is particularly important to us. We had therefore prepared an extensive exhibition programme and came to Düsseldorf with great expectations, which were even exceeded then! We are particularly pleased that the video sequences of the MMH 112, which represents a new generation of multiwire drawing machines, as well as our digitization concept, into which we have put a lot of development effort, were very well received by the trade visitors”. More comments by Niehoff at this link.
Roberto Gnecchi, Managing Director - Tecno Impianti Srl: "We are very satisfied, we have received many requests for offers and even closed some orders during the show. It is an unmissable event, arriving in a year which was already really positive for us."
For Expometals.net it was an unrepeatable opportunity to meet the almost 150 customers present on site as exhibitors, and to collect their comments on the participation in the web portal - they were all broadly favorable. The reputation of the platform is at the highest levels, also thanks to the cooperation as Media Partner with wire 2018 and Messe Düsseldorf. "During the event some companies already present on the portal have enhanced their visibility by purchasing banners. And many new advertisers have joined Expometals. For us it’s probably the best Düsseldorf ever," confirms Davide Dell'Oro, founder of Expometals.net.
