Visitors from +100 Countries to attend wire and Tube 2020 in December

A newly released press article of Messe Düsseldorf, organizer of the internationally recognized trade show wire & Tube, points out that, although the global economy is in a tight spot right now, a stable number of professionals is expected to visit the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds from December 7 to 11 2020.

Forecasts indicate that, as in the previous editions, one third of the guests will be from Germany. Regarding international visitors, instead, around 80% will be from Europe, namely from Italy, France and Spain, despite these countries being the most impacted by the pandemic.

The two leading international trade shows dedicated to the wire and tube industry will be held in compliance with strict new hygiene and social distancing rules.
"If the EU and national stimulus packages take effect in the European countries," state the organizers in the press release, "then an economic recovery and increase in investment can be expected by the end of the year."

The event, originally scheduled to take place from March 30 to April 3, was postponed to December due to the spread of covid-19.

Side news, update June 25, 2020: Messe Düsseldorf has informed that Mr. Werner M. Dornscheidt, who has served for almost 17 years as a President & CEO, will resign from his office on 30 June 2020. Wolfram N. Diener, previously serving as Managing Director Operative Business, will take over as Chief Executive Officer from 1 July 2020. “The Covid-19 pandemic brings unprecedented challenges,” commented Mr Dornscheidt, but “What we have built up together with my team over all those years benefits the company today.” Dornscheidt leaves in the hands of Mr Diener and his team a group that closed the last full business year under his leadership with a y-o-y sales increase of 28.7% (EUR 378.5 million) and earnings after taxes of EUR 56.6 million.
