Who are the top 10 steel companies in the world?
The 2020 ranking of major world steel manufacturers is available here.
In 2018, 1,808.4 million tonnes of crude steel were produced worldwide. The figure is constantly growing: in 2017 the million tonnes produced were 1,729.8 while in 2008 we were “only” talking about 1343.
Steel is essential in all industries and sectors, it surrounds our every day life and is a crucial asset for the world economy; but who produces it, and where? The answer is given by the World Steel Association, which has recently released the data on world steel output in 2018.
Arcelor Mittal, Luxembourg-based industry giant, is reconfirmed as the largest steel company in the world, while Asian manufacturers share all the other positions of this special ranking.
