Charcoal & gas gravel wiping systems

The charcoal system relies upon the physical contact between the vertical exiting wire and the charcoal to remove the excess zinc.

The gas gravel operates similarly with the addition of a hydrogen Sulphlde (H2S) gas to increase the viscosity ol the molten zinc.

Both provide a good heavy zinc coating but lack the capacity to tightly control the excess zinc being deposited onto the wires.
