Rotary furnace
Rolling mill
GF-ELTI, a historic Italy-based company that has been operating in the industrial plants industry for over 50 years, manufactures rotary hearth furnaces for the reheating of round items and ingots in preparation for the subsequent rolling phase (1,100 ÷ 1,250 °C).
The rotary hearth furnaces designed by GF-ELTI typically consist of walls, vault, rotary hearth, kinematics, seals and regenerative combustion system. Depending on the plant layout, they can be equipped with one or two doors for loading and unloading.
Specifically, the semi-finished products, after being loaded into the furnace through position-controlled hydraulic or electro-mechanical servocontrols, advance at a distance from each other following a circular path. The hearth rotates by a defined angle (furnace step), moves the hot piece into the unloading area, making some free space for the next piece to be loaded.
This type of plant requires substantial foundation works for the installation of the kinematics and the emptying of the furnace for maintenance activities can be carried out independently by the plant.
