Wire and wire rod coating and drying lines
Sirio Wire also provides complete coating and drying lines both for multiple wires or for single wire/wire rods and batch coating and drying lines for wire rod coils.
In the case of stainless steel wire, Sirio Wire experts emphasize the necessity to coat the rod wire with a salt coating bath before proceeding with the drawing process. This method can be done in-line or off-line.
The company’s inline coating (salt or borax) bath consists of an insulated reservoir tank, a working tank, a stainless steel cover, a propeller, an electrical or steam-operated heating system, and an air wiping system. The line also includes a dryer, made using a stainless steel tunnel working at approx. 120 °C.
The batch coating line consists of a loading stand, a coating bath working at 90 °C, a dryer working at about 110 °C, an unloading stand, and a bridge crane. This one, which moves the coils between different positions, is available both fully automatic and manually operated.
Since the coating bath is a delicate operation, Sirio Wire takes particular care of the insulation, thus reducing heat losses. For this reason, the bathes are opened just for loading and unloading the coils.
