Semi-automatic precision layer wire winder

The semi auto precision layer winder, Semi-auto PLW by Lämneå Bruk consists of a powered payoff, a dancer arm unit, for the pay off speed and tension control and a precision layer winding machine.

The frame of the Semi-auto PLW is self-supporting and need only a flat surface for installation. The Semi-auto PLW is capable of re-spooling MIG/MAG welding wires, such as mild steel, stainless steel, flux cored wire, aluminum and more up to a speed of 35 m/s.

Finishing coiling can be on any wire baskets or spools. Lamnea Semi-auto PLW can be specially designed to suit any spool or wire basket the customer prefers.

The Semi-auto PLW is equipped with a servo drive motor which controls a movable dowel to accurate settings and adjustments of width between flanges. The servo drive motor controls the movable dowel via a precision ball screw arrangement. When the spool is in position the movable dowel is locked.

The distance between the flanges is fine-tuned by the servo drive motor and the ball screw via the operator’s control. When the first lap is done the line will automatically speed up to full speed and the intelligence of the traverse unit in the machine and the guiding of the wire, making sure the result is a perfectly winded basket or spool.
