Coil-to-coil bright annealing systems for stainless steel tubes

A combination of know-how and innovative approach has led EMMEDI to the development of highly-customizable systems for both seamless and welded stainless steel tubes.

The newly developed in-line bright annealing units for coil-to-coil production of stainless steel tubes have been carefully designed to offer:

- improved production flexibility;
- energy savings and reduced operational costs;
- fast and precise process;
- versatility in terms of wide range of tube diameters;
- scrap reduction due to control process optimization.

The in-line bright annealing process has yielded excellent metallurgical results to the latest generation of stainless-steel tubes (including duplex, super duplex, and titanium pipes for various applications such as petrochemical, furniture, automotive, food and beverage, etc.)

Compared to conventional furnaces, induction heating applied to this process significantly reduces start-up times, allowing for a higher power density. This results in a faster and more precise heating process. The entire line is cooled off by a closed-loop demineralized water-cooling system, mounted on an independent structure. The use of non-recycled pure hydrogen gas at a low-rate results in perfect cleaning of the tube surface, thus achieving the brightness and hardness required by the annealing process. The outgoing hydrogen is burned to prevent gas dispersion in the environment.
