Valve springs are critical components in internal-combustion engines which are designed to hold closed valves in the cylinder heads. Possible failures of valve springs may result in a total engine failure, therefore it’s vital to prevent damages and malfunctions.

The IABG testing machine for valve springs (VSTM) allows the efficient determination of fatigue strength in valve springs. This kind of testing equipment uses resonance principles, and is able to simultaneously test a large number of valve springs up to their maximum possible stress.

Fatigue tests can be performed at various temperatures to simulate different working conditions and are designed in order to exclude all external forces and vibrations.
