Steel wire ropes (6x7/6x19 A&B/6x37B/6x24)

- 6x7 wire rope: this wire rope is relatively thick, has poor flexibility, and has good wear resistance. Not suitable for applications where the bending is severe. Recommended for drilling steel ropes, ski resorts can also be used for endless rope lifts, wire rope belt conveyors, inclined shaft winches, etc.

- 6×19 (A&B) wire rope: this type of wire rope is more widely used than any other type of wire rope. It is used in bridge cranes, gantry cranes, stationary cranes, truck cranes, and coils. There are many combinations of steel wires in the strands of this type of wire rope. Some  are more flexible and some have better wear resistance.

- 6×37 (B) wire rope: wire ropes with this type of structure are: 6 x 37, 6 x 29 Fi, 6 x 37 S.
The outer layer of this type of wire rope is composed by 6 strands. The center core can be a fiber core or a steel core. There are usually 31 to 49 steel wires in the outer strand and 12 to 18 steel wires in the outermost layer. Wire ropes of this type have the best flexibility and better resistance to extrusion. Generally used in cranes in the workshop, where the speed of the steel rope is fast and the winding is multi-turn. 

It is less used in the case where the steel rope on the reel is laminated in a multi-layer arrangement.
Such steel ropes on electric shovels are also used for digging and tow ropes. Due to the development of such machines in a more flexible and lighter weight, the size of the reels and sheave is limited, requiring wire ropes to have better bending fatigue life and wear resistance. 6×37 wire ropes can better meet these requirements.

- 6×24 wire rope: wire ropes with this structure are: 6 x 24 + 7 Fc, 6 x 24 S + 7 Fc, 6 x 24 W + 7 Fc. The 6×24 structural wire rope contains 7 fiber cores and is therefore the softest wire rope. It is generally used on tugboats, cargo nets, fishing trawls, floating wood. The surface of such wire ropes is generally galvanized.
