Rotating caterpillars for power and telecommunication cables

Stolberger produces and sells rotating caterpillars suitable for operation in drum twister lines for the production of power and telecommunication cables.

Clamping of caterpillar haul-off belts through self-centring tiebar system.

Rotation is transmitted from the rotating take-up through a chain coupling. Belt drive is transmitted from a separate AC-motor which allows a stepless adjustment of haul-off speed.

Cable haul-off is possible with non-rotating caterpillar capstan.

At cable entry of caterpillar capstan, a rotating length measuring unit with electronic impulse transmitter is provided for measuring the cable length as well as for haul-off or line speed control. this arrangement makes it also possible to operate the line with and without caterpillar.
