Mobile induction unit for cold forming of metal wire

The mobile induction unit SCF/I is designed to heat the wire (carbon steel, inox and aluminum) up to 400°C, in order to improve the malleability of the wire during the cold forming process.

It has several advantages:

• easy handling made on wheels;

• the rack it comes equipped with enables a vertical movement of about 70cm, wich lets it support different wire entry heights;

• compact size (600 mm x 900 mm x 900 mm);

• can be electrically connected to the cold header in order to reach an integrated management of the wire temperature;

• the device is equipped with two pyrometers: the first is placed after the heating spiral, the second one can be placed by using a magnet (or something else) on the cold header next to the cutting unit, showing the actual temperature to which the wire is subjected;

• It is possible to heat wires from diameters of 4 mm up to diameters of 20 mm, using only 2 spirals, thus reducing set-up times for machines; the maximum temperature this device can reach is 400°C, after that its shuts down automatically.
