Production lines for straight and bent prestressed steel rods

n

RALC Italia has developed highly specialized lines for producing prestressed steel rods used in concrete sleepers for the railway industry. These lines ensure precise and high-quality finishing for the final product. The range includes two models: one for straight rods and another for bent rods.

Straight rod production line
The straight rod production line is an automated system for chamfering, turning, and threading straight prestressed steel rods. Here are some of its key features:

- Wire diameter: 7 to 12mm, maximum steel hardness: 1,700N/mm2
- Bar length: 1,000 to 8,100mm, smooth or ribbed surface.
- Discharge through a system with collecting cradles

Bent rod production line
The bent rod production line is designed for the manufacturing of curved rods. It utilizes a clamp to handle and move two rods toward the bending unit at the same time. Below, some technical details:

- Wire diameter: 7 to 12mm, maximum steel hardness: 1,700N/mm2;
- Bar length: 1,000 to 8,100mm, smooth or ribbed surface.
- Robotized palletization with a dedicated collector.

The length control function enables the detection and elimination of pieces that do not meet tolerance requirements prior to machining, leading to increased tool lifespan and cost savings. The chamfering and turning heads are equipped with controlled advancement using brushless motors, providing flexibility to achieve the desired length. Additionally, the machines can come with an automatic loader, such as the Mannaino model, which is particularly beneficial for companies with high production volumes, ensuring continuous material loading and progressive handling of the rods.

Leading steel mills worldwide rely on these innovative machines for their exceptional performance, repeatability, and machining quality. For more information contact RALC Italia using the provided contact details.
