Fully automatic precision layer winder, wire winder for wire re-spooling and coiling

Lämneå Bruk's automatic precision layer winder line consists of a powered payoff, a dancer unit with an automatic tension control and an automatic PLW machine. The frame of the Automatic precision layer winder is self-supporting and need only a flat surface for installation.

This fully automatic precision layer winding line is mainly capable of re-spooling MIG/MAG welding wires such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum and more with a speed up to 35m/s. Once the payoff spool has been loaded and the wire lazed up the machine line, will the automatic PLW coil the wire onto spools automatically until the payoff spool is empty.

With no operator attending, the machine makes all steps such as hooking the start end, winding the first layer, hooking the finish end, off load the full basket and loading a new empty basket from the basket magazine. All this steps, the machine is doing fully automatically. Even in case of an error in the winding the machine will recognize the error, rewind to a point prior to the error and start again.

All of the steps in the machine are controlled by a PLC. The PLC in the machines sets the machine control systems, visualize and monitor the process of the coiling. The PLC controls a servo drive motor which operates a movable dowel, a ball screw and a traverse system.
