Konik,‌ ‌when‌ ‌a‌ ‌product‌ ‌becomes‌ ‌a‌ ‌smart‌ ‌and‌ ‌sustainable‌ ‌solution‌ ‌

For over forty years, Spazzolplastica has been developing cutting-edge products for wire winding operations. Thanks to continuous research, the Italy-based company has patented a cutting-edge solution to make storage even easier, optimizing space in the warehouse and during transportation.

Konik is Spazzolplastica's new patented drum: the unique inner cylindrical shape technology transforms the conical shape of the drum into a cylindrical one. Optimized space, reuse possibility, and reduced wire jamming risk during unwinding operations are some of the main features of the Konik drum. The particular conical shape allows to stock and/or transport a greater number of drums compared with traditional solutions: it is indeed possible to position as many as 17 Konik drums in the same warehouse space of 3 cylindrical drums. When it comes to transport, up to 1400 Konik drums can be stored in a truck (a considerable improvement over the 380 classic drums that fit into the same space).

Konik is made entirely of recycled plastic. At the end of its use cycle, Spazzolplastica is willing to buy the empty drum back from its customers in order to grind it and transform it into a renewed product, ready to face a new cycle of uses. This solution allows a 71% reduction in CO2 emissions compared with traditional cylindrical kraft drums.

Moreover, the Konik Klima version is also available. This drum model, designed for long-distance maritime transport, is equipped with a completely hermetic lid that protects the wire from all possible external agents.
