Metal sheet stacking and packaging system by Rizzi to improve efficiency and productivity
Rizzi Srl, a key player for over 40 years in packaging sheet metal and slit-coil, has recently designed a new automatic stacking and packaging system for an important service center in northern Italy, specializing in cut-to-length coils of galvanized and electro-galvanized, and hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel.
This new system represents a major step forward in managing the cutting and packaging processes, as it guarantees greater efficiency and productivity thanks to its high level of automation.
The new line by Rizzi includes a group of extraction belts from the cutting unit, complete with a stacker positioned under the pass-line, allowing the formation of secondary-grade material packages. The main stacker processes formats up to a length of 4 meters in non-stop mode or, in stop mode, single sheets up to a maximum length of 8 meters. The thickness range of formats goes from 0.40 to 6.00 millimeters for a cutting width of 1,550 millimeters.
The packages are extracted in a completely automated way by shuttle and subsequently introduced in an automatic packaging line, which is equipped with various automation such as bundle strapping and insertion of corner components on the formed packages. The entire system is interconnected with the company's ERP system based on Industry 4.0, as it can trace both the package's formation and entry to the warehouse.
