Maillefer: “We have long anticipated wire 2020, but we have to cancel our plans”

Maillefer: “We have long anticipated wire 2020, but we have to cancel our plans”

“The second wave brings too much uncertainty”: with these words, the world leader in extrusion technology Maillefer announced the painful decision not to exhibit in Düsseldorf this December.

The entire team of the company had long been looking forward to this appointment with industry peers and was confident that, after the first wave of COVID-19 cases, there were signs of a return to normality that bode well for a smooth running of the fair.

But now, says Lars Fagerholm, Executive Vice-President of Maillefer, “the unforeseeable conditions do not allow to envision a secure and safe environment for visitors and the multi-disciplined team.”
Mr. Fagerholm recognizes the “considerable safety measures put in place” by Messe Düsseldorf; nevertheless, the deteriorating health conditions and the constant evolution of the situation have played a decisive role in the decision to cancel the presence at the trade show.

Even after the change of plans, says Mr. Fagerholm, “we feel there are opportunities to present and share the latest Maillefer innovations in equipment, process optimization, smart intelligence solutions, and life cycle services.”

Expect to learn more about these aspects soon. Stay tuned!

Update (October 29, 2020): the 2020 edition of the wire & Tube trade fair has been officially canceled. See you in Düsseldorf in 2022!
