Wire stretching and recoiling lines
Promostar, leader in the production of concrete reinforcing wire and thin steel wire, was the first company to introduce the wire stretching process, a technology that was developed in the '90s for the production of anti-seismic reinforcing products.
The process is used nowadays worldwide to produce high-ductility reinforcing materials, such as compact coils, bars, electrowelded meshes, lattice girders, stirrup, cages through cold process. The final products obtained with this method achieve uniform characteristics at a lower cost compared to hot rolling.
The wire stretching and recoiling lines by Promostar are designed to produce stretched high-ductility wire coils, in combination with the automatic vertical spooler SirioStar.
The ArgoStar machine series can reach a working speed of 10 m/s, dealing with inlet wires with diameters from 6 to 16 mm. Furthermore, the line can be used with low-carbon ribbed rebar in coils with weight from 3 to 5 tons. Thanks to a quick fixing system of stretching panels and rolling cassettes, the machine can also be configured to process different wire diameters and wire qualities.
The interaction between V shaped capstans and the stretching panels guarantee a perfect layer-to-layer compact coil.
The ArgoStar lines can be equipped with a scale evacuation system (by belt or chain conveyor) and a dust extraction system. In addition, rolling cassettes, soap adding unit and stress relieving panel can be installed on the line, allowing it to produce cold-rolling reinforced materials.
