SICME Italia Impianti wins award for best non-ferrous technical paper
At IWMA’s prestigious industry dinner held at wire 2016 in Düsseldorf, SICME Italia Impianti received the HW Bennett Award for the best non-ferrous technical paper presented at the CabWire 2015 conference.
The paper, Revolutionising the Wire Manufacturing Process, was presented at CabWire by Mr Rupert Parmenter. It explains how the company’s new dual-fuel SuperEG enamelling machine can drastically reduce the manufacturing cost of enamelled wire.
The machine makes it possible to achieve very high speed, lower-cost production by using natural gas for heating the enamelling oven. SICME Italia Impianti has already patented the technology and is in the process of acquiring safety certificates in several countries. The 7th biennial CabWire technical conference, held at the Congress Center in Düsseldorf last November, attracted over 100 delegates from the USA, Canada, India, Turkey and Europe. Delegates heard presentations from eminent industry professionals in both ferrous and non-ferrous sectors on industry forecasts and trends, as well as new techniques and processes.
Presenting the awards, IWMA technical director Peter Large congratulated Franco Bensi, President of SICME, and praised the high quality of the presentations.
“This was one of the most stimulating programmes ever presented at CabWire, with presentations from highly respected international speakers,” he said.
