Barni: new digital coil printing line at Tube Düsseldorf

Barni: new digital coil printing line at Tube Düsseldorf

Barni has been involved in the coil painting industry since 2015, when the first line was designed, capable of processing both steel and aluminum. However, the Barni name began gaining international recognition as early as 2014, the year the company first participated in the prestigious Tube Düsseldorf event.

Barni's fifth appearance at the event has been confirmed for the 2024 edition, providing an opportunity to showcase the group's new capabilities following the acquisition of Guida Impianti.

Barni team attending Tube Düsseldorf will be led by Maurizio Barni and Tomaso Nessi: "Given our presence in the tube processing sector, we aim to showcase the quality of our products and services, including the post-sales support we provide to our loyal customers. We expect to introduce Digital Printing, the state-of-the-art technology in the industry, to as many experts as possible at the fair. Our participation in such a prestigious event like Tube is essential for both Barni and Guida."

Over time, customers have developed a close bond with Barni, continually raising the bar for their projects. In 2021, Marcegaglia – a longstanding tube manufacturer and loyal customer of Barni – commissioned the company to develop a specific line of solutions for digital coil printing.

Introducing CROMATICA, the coil coating line for digital printing

CROMATICA, the production line born thanks to the partnership between Marcegaglia group and Barni S.p.a., allows the customization of metal surfaces for outdoor and indoor applications, opening the door to infinite opportunities in the design world.

Thanks to the digital printing technology, Barni's lines can reproduce high-quality images on sheet metal coils, allowing for extraordinary and detailed aesthetic results. Additionally, this digital printing plant is also suitable for the construction sector, enabling the creation of impactful facades and other design solutions.

"For us, this product is an absolute novelty at Tube and represents the flagship of the latest activities carried out by Barni," reveals Tomaso Nessi. "During the fair, it will be possible to admire live some panels decorated with Digital Printing produced thanks to our equipment."

Focus on sustainability

CROMATICA is a state-of-the-art solution that gives a nod to sustainability. In fact, no solvent is needed when using UV curing inks. Here are some of the key advantages in this regard:

- UV furnace instead of traditional furnace;
- No air and water needed;
- No solvent = no post combustor;
- Little encumbrance = little waste.

Why choose Barni “Digital Printing Line”?

There are many reasons for the customer to turn to Barni for its coil coating projects:

- the company already had a proven track record, having previously manufactured a similar line with successful results. Having met and exceeded customer expectations, the company was awarded a final acceptance certificate, attesting to its commitment to quality;

- one of the standout features is the innovative “Stelvio System”, which ensures precise coil centering with the printing machine. Thanks to this system it is possible to coat the entire coil leaving no edges unprinted;

- furthermore, CROMATICA can apply the protective, 3D effect and matte effect directly inline and in one step, which is pivotal for high volume manufacture and for optimizing production time.

CROMATICA fears no comparisons: the brand competed alongside Barni S.p.a. at the Rally Monza on the 1st and 2nd of December at Autodromo Nazionale. Here's how the vehicle of the Barni-Marcegaglia team appeared:
