ABS to start the Danieli Digital Melter, the environmentally-friendly melting furnace

Safety, environment care, and reduced energy consumption: ABS has finally started the Danieli Digital Melter (DDM) melting furnace at the Sisak site in Croatia.

The plant uses the innovative Q-ONE system, which allows a reduction in electricity consumption by 20-30%, amounting to about 8-15 euros saved per ton of steel produced. This technology will not only ensure a significant increase in production, but also in competitiveness and product quality.

The raw steels produced at ABS Sisak's plant are destined almost exclusively to the QWR 4.0 wire rod plant in Cargnacco (Udine, Northern Italy), contributing to the continuous improvement and innovation of ABS processes.

Thanks to its QWR 4.0 plant, ABS is among the few international manufacturers that can supply the entire size range of wire rods from 5 to 25 mm, integrated with the Luna rolling mill wire rods from 13 to 63 mm.
