What happens now that wire & Tube 2020 are delayed?

Following the recommendations of German government crisis management team, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH decided to postpone the dates of wire & Tube 2020, the international trade fairs for the wire, cable and tube industry initially scheduled for March 30 – April 3. The organizers announced on February 29 that they will promptly discuss alternative trade fair dates. Read more >>

wire 2020 and Tube 2020 would have originally involved respectively 1,450 and 1,250 exhibitors. The number of visitors expected this year was 43,000 plus 30,000 people.
What happens for exhibitors? Will they get a refund? What about stand fees?

This is the answer given by Messe Düsseldorf: “Existing contracts remain valid for the alternative dates of the postponed trade fairs. Should individual exhibitors not be able to adhere to the existing contracts, an individual solution must be found with all parties involved.” If exhibitors cannot or do not want to participate on the alternative dates, it is necessary to discuss a solution with Messe Düsseldorf and other parties involved, as in principle existing contracts remain valid for the new dates.
As regards OOS services with official exhibition service partners, Messe Düsseldorf is in discussions with its partners to find the best possible solution. Orders placed with Messe Düsseldorf (e.g. OOS services) shall initially remain valid for the alternative date.

As for costs incurred so far by exhibitors from flights booked, hotel accommodation etc., Messe Düsseldorf is unable to provide information on contracts between customers and third parties, as these have not been concluded with Messe Düsseldorf itself.

What happens for visitors who already purchased a ticket?
Already purchased visitor tickets will remain valid for the new dates.

Messe Düsseldorf will support its exhibitors and visitors as much as possible. This was not an easy decision to take, but the organizers will do their best to find a satisfying solution for all the people and companies involved.
