Established in Cabriès, France, in 1981, CERSA MCI is a benchmark company in the field of measurement and control instruments. The firm offers an unrivaled portfolio of cutting-edge solutions for the wire, cable and fiber optic industries.

A success story
CERSA was founded with the aim of meeting the automation and metrology needs of high-tech industries, such as aeronautics, military, etc. The feedback from the market was great and the company quickly gained popularity in other sectors as well. In 1986, CERSA designed the first Laser Diffraction Sensor (LDS) for wire measurement, which still today represents the company's flagship product. Later, in the ‘90s, the firm expanded its activities in the fiber optic segment, engineering the first Laser Interferometric Sensor for glass fiber (LIS-Glass). On the strength of this success, in the following years CERSA would develop a complete line of complementary devices, such as the Non Contact Tension Measurement (NCTM) and the 5-axis Coating Measurement (CM5) instruments. In 2011, CERSA became part of the “Bellepeire Invest” BI group holding company.

Present and future
Thanks to many years of experience and a consolidated know-how, today the company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of measuring devices and quality control systems for fine wire, cable, and optical fiber. In 2018, more than 500 fiber optic production lines around the globe were equipped with CERSA-MCI instruments. 365/24/7 the firm works side by side with foreign and local university laboratories, as well as with the major international manufacturers to deliver effective answers to the industry requirements. Furthermore, thanks to a highly-skilled staff composed by R&D engineers, experts in optics, electronics, and signal processing, the company provides preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, retrofit, and training services for all its customers. Despite a complete offer and an enviable leading market position, the desire to grow and innovate is still strong in CERSA.
