Established in 1979, CALMEC is a Canadian machinery manufacturer providing tailored Engineered Armouring Solutions. Calmec specializes in process driven equipment for the continuous roll forming of metallic strip, and the application of metallic and non-metallic tapes, to produce flexible conduit and pipes over electrical cables, hoses, and as components of deep sea umbilical’s.
Our INNOVATIONS
Calmec is the leader in developing and applying cutting edge technology and design advancements, both mechanically and electrically. Calmec currently has new and exciting innovative technologies in development with patents pending. One being a revolutionary Dual Strip (T2) Armoring process doubles production speeds over conventional armouring technology, delivery operational, material, and labour savings.
Our TOOLING
A key component in any outperforming machine is tooling. Calmec’s innovative tooling strategy provides outstanding results. Our swivel tooling assemblies provide fast and easy setup procedures with minimal machine downtime. Fixed positioning on most components eliminates operator error. All parts are CNC machined for maximum precision, and hardened for longer life. Tooling for round armour, square-lock, and fully interlocked products is designed and manufactured in 3D, customized to the exact number of convolutions desired. A Bench Set Tooling Fixture provides off line setup ability while the machine runs, thus quick and easy changeover of products is guaranteed. Tooling is available for a multitude of strip widths and thicknesses. Most importantly Calmec will work diligently with customers to generate tooling best suited to their individual requirements.
