Carlo Salvi S.p.A.
Screws and bolts making machines
1939
Carlo Salvi was established in 1939 by Mr. Carlo Salvi. His father was Italian, but he was born in New York in 1907 and returned to Italy with his family when he was 8 years old. His father served in the Italian Army during World War 1. He started his own Company in 1939 with the purpose of building mechanical descalers to process hot rolled rod. A few thousands of these machines have been sold all over the world. Although these machines were successful, Carlo Salvi’s aim was to manufacture new and more complex machines.
His new adventure began in the late 40’s with the design and production of a flat die thread roller, machines that have established immediately for good quality and affordable price.Very soon this was followed by a family of head slotters and finally, in 1952, he built his first single die two blow toggle header.
The success was immediate. The machine was reliable, low-priced and high speed. In the early 70’s a complete new line of single-die high speed models was designed for the production of semi-tubular and fully tubular rivets. These machines literally revolutionized the market. In fact Carlo Salvi machines allowed to produce up to 660 parts per minute with very low production costs. In the early 80’s, Carlo Salvi developed a new machine range of 2-die 4-blow and progressive headers, up to six stations. During the 90’s, Carlo Salvi continued investing in the development of new machines in order to build cold headers with innovative electronic systems designed to provide the highest levels of performance output.
Presently, Carlo Salvi is offering a complete range of cold headers up to 6 stations, capable of handling wire from 0,6 to 24 mm in diameter, and with the ability to process materials such as stainless steel, titanium and special alloys in combination with induction pre-heating. Experience, innovation and capability are the elements which allow us to be an asset to our customers.
Carlo Salvi sells its machines directly or through either agents or authorized dealers. These machines are used all over the world by well-known producers of fasteners for the automotive, aerospace and electronics industries. With thousands of machines sold, Carlo Salvi has become a leading supplier of machines for the fasteners industry. Today Carlo Salvi headers are sold all over the world. The administrative office is in the heart of the Lombard capital city, Milan, since the year of the foundation, 1939. The headquarters in Garlate covers an area of about 25,000 square meters. The management, accounting and commercial offices would all be found here, as would the development department, the production area, the assembly room and the spare parts warehouse.
As of April 1, 2016 Carlo Salvi S.p.A. is joining forces with Hatebur Umformmaschinen AG.
This acquisition represents for both companies a great potential and will allow Carlo Salvi S.p.A. and Hatebur to be a strong and powerful supplier of innovative and advanced cold, warm and hot forming solutions and services to the market.
